Get Outside

First, take advantage of the great outdoors before the weather changes! In my neck of the woods, it’s still plenty hot. Go on a family hike in your local park. Have a water gun fight. Run through the sprinkler or hit up the local pool one last time. Whatever activity you choose, get outside a do it!End of Summer Activities for Families

Family Movie Night

After spending the day outside, bring it on it for family movie night. Thanks to our $49.88 TRULY Unlimited Talk, Text, & Data◊ plan from Walmart Family Mobile, powered by T-Mobile, we get a free VUDU** movie rental credit valued at $7.00 each month we renew our service. Since the movie is free, the only cost for our family movie night is for the snacks! Make it extra special by letting everyone pick their favorite snack to munch on or building a blanket fort for the kids to watch from.End of Summer Activities for Families

Discover Your City

Another low cost activity is to pretend your a tourist in your own town. That museum you’ve always wanted to visit? Plan to spend a few hours there. That new restaurant that just opened? Eat there for lunch. Don’t let cool things in your city pass you by just because you live there. Far too often, amazing things are happening just down the street, and we let them pass us by because we aren’t paying attention.

Learn Together

With school swiftly approaching, it doesn’t hurt to get kids back into the mindset of learning. One of the easiest ways to teach kids without forcing a school-like experience is through apps. What kid doesn’t love apps? We are especially fond of the Toca series of apps. Some a free while others cost, but all are fun and educational. Because we saved money with our no contract, no activation fee Walmart Family Mobile plan, we could splurge a little more on great apps that entertain and sneak in a little learning while they’re at it.End of Summer Activities for Families

Keep It Simple

My girls aren’t babies anymore (someone hold me!), but they still love simple joys in life. Each summer, we buy new sidewalk chalk and let them go to town on our driveway, sidewalk or front porch. Bubble wands are also still a big hit at their age, believe it or not. Whatever you do, keep it simple. Sometimes, those moments are the best memories.End of Summer Activities for Families

Capture It All

I’ve talked about my favorite apps before, so I won’t rehash that post, but I do want to remind you to capture it all. Even silly moments like my girls narrating their day in a funny voice are great memories to have. We spend a lot of time talking negatively about technology, but I am grateful for the way it helps me keep every day memories intact.
