How to Make Emoji Slime + The Emoji Movie Giveaway

Be your own movie night hero by bringing home The Emoji Movie on Blu-Ray, Digital, and DVD beginning October 24! I received a copy of The Emoji Movie to facilitate this post. All opinions are mine.

The Emoji Movie

My girls are obsessed with this movie! All things emoji are very popular in our house right now, but I don’t see that going away any time soon. The Emoji Movie stars T.J. Miller as Gene Meh, James Corden as Hi-5, Anna Faris as Jailbreak, and more! There’s even an appearance by Sir Patrick Stewart as Poop. Poop, y’all. Professor X is the voice of the Poop emoji. I’m doubling over with laughter just thinking about it!The Emoji Movie is full of laughs, like this scene.

About The Emoji Movie

The animated comedy unlocks the never-before-seen secret world inside your smartphone. Hidden within the messaging app is Textopolis, a bustling city where all your favorite emojis live, hoping to be selected by the phone’s user. In this world, each emoji has only one facial expression – except for Gene, an exuberant emoji who was born without a filter and is bursting with multiple expressions. Determined to become “normal” like the other emojis, Gene enlists the help of his handy best friend Hi-5 and the notorious code breaker emoji Jailbreak. Together, they embark on an epic “app-venture” through the apps on the phone, each its own wild and fun world, to find the code that will fix Gene. But when a greater danger threatens the phone, the fate of all emojis depends on these three unlikely friends who must save their world before it’s deleted forever. The Emoji Movie is a hilarious animated adventure.

How to Make Emoji Slime

When we received our copy of this movie for review, my girls couldn’t wait to watch it! I also knew we needed a fun way to celebrate the movie coming to Blu-Ray, Digital, DVD on October 24. What better way to celebrate than with some slime! Since my last slime making venture went so well, I tried to stick with the same plan as before. Thankfully, it all worked like a charm. How to Make Emoji Slime

Supplies for Slime

Just in case you’re new to my slime recipe, here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1/2 tsp of Borax
  • 1/2 cup room temperature water
  • 1 5-6oz bottle glue (clear or white, your choice)
  • Glitter (optional)
  • Confetti (optional)How to Make Emoji Slime

Directions for Emoji Slime

  1. Mix 1 cup hot water with 1/2 tsp of Borax in a bowl or measuring cup. Stir well until dissolved. Let this mixture come to room temperature.
  2. Empty glue into a separate bowl. Mix in 1/2 cup of plain water. I recommend a whisk for mixing. This is also where you add in glitter and/or confetti if you choose.
  3. Stir the Borax/water mixture into the bowl of glue/water. As you see the slime beginning to form, begin kneading and squishing the two mixtures together. If your slime is not setting up correctly, allow it to sit for 30 seconds to 1 minute before kneading and squishing again.Celebrate the release of The Emoji Movie with this easy activity!
