Top Halloween Costumes for Kids 2017
I’m what many would call a “reluctant DIY-er.” I occasionally dabble in it, but it’s not really my forte. Entertaining kids on the road? Check. Cruising the Caribbean with kids? Check. DIY-ing all the things? Eh, sometimes. When the girls were smaller, it was easy to throw something together and call it a costume. Often times, pjs for little bitties can double as their costume (and they are adorable). Once they hit that magic age between three and four, all bets are off and opinions matter. When kids get opinionated, you usually have to (within reason) let them pick their own costumes. Thankfully, what we wanted this year was one of the hot costumes, so it was easy to find. If you see a coveted costume, snap it up quick or else it might disappear!
Costumes for Girls
These are my picks for the hottest costumes of 2017. They are based on what my kids like, and what I, as a parent perceive to be popular. If you’re lucky enough, you kid may want something totally different and you won’t have to fight over the last one of these in stock at Target!
Disney’s Descendants Uma
Disney’s Descendants Mal
Moana from Disney’s Moana
Disney’s Descendants Evie
Rainbow Dash from My Little Pony
Jyn Erso from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
Rey from Star Wars: The Last Jedi
Costumes for Boys
Even though I don’t have boys at home, I can take an educated guess on the popularity of costumes based on my friends’ boys that we hang out with on a regular basis. Some of these costume ideas are classic, but tend to be popular each year nonetheless.
Creeper from Minecraft
Costumes for Adults
Looking for more costume ideas? Check out my list of DIY ideas for adult costumes! It’s much easier to make an adult DIY costume, especially since most of us won’t be wearing it again any time soon.
