After polling a few of my mom friends on Facebook about what they wanted for Mother’s Day, I found a similar thread running through everyone’s requests: me time. As mothers, we give of ourselves day in and day out, and we often forget about what we need and want that helps keep us going. There’s a lot of truth to the saying, “If mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy.”
Mother’s Day Gift Guide
In addition to a day off from household duties, most moms wanted to indulge in a little something for themselves. If you’re struggling with just the right gift to express gratitude to the mom in your life, let this list be a starting point for you.
As someone who spends most of their day online creating content, editing photos, and post to social media, it’s rare for me to have any physical evidence of all the photos I take. Fortunately, I’ve developed a great relationship with Minted, and they sent over this gorgeous framed print of our most recent family photo session for me to have. I am always in awe of the quality and speediness of their products, and I can say without a doubt, their art it some of my favorite. Print some photos for the mom in your life and have them beautifully framed. You won’t regret it.
Some women will scoff at this idea, but, let’s face it, we can’t all pay for housekeepers, so what’s the next best thing? Better items for us to use when attending to our household chores. If you really want to show mom you care, give her the gift of a new vacuum, like the Shark Rocket Complete, and then give her the day off from cleaning (never hurts to kiss up on mom’s special day)!
Coffee, Coffee, and more Coffee
I’ve already reviewed the Ninja Coffee Bar System for you, but don’t forget about other coffee brands as well! A gift card to the local coffee shop is also a welcome option for those moms in your life that are always on the go!
This time of year is a great time to reflect on the New Year’s resolutions we all made. Oh wait, you didn’t make one? Me either! Awesome! Glad we’re in the same boat. I’m the worst at making excuses about “starting tomorrow” on a new health and fitness journey, so why not help the mom in you life get a jump start? In case you haven’t seen my review about the FitBit Alta, you can check that out below, but I’m sure any kind of fitness tracker will make mom smile on Mother’s Day (make sure she’s asked for that, though, and don’t try to be cute with subliminal messaging!).
Finally, meaningful jewelry is always a great go-to for moms on Mother’s Day. Whether you have specialized jewelry made or purchase from her favorite store, she will definitely appreciate the gesture and the thought behind the gift.
