Shop Small Holiday Gift Guide

All of these businesses I am featuring here are small, local-to-me businesses. I’ve actually met with all of the women who own these businesses, and they all had one thing in common: they began these businesses thinking of others over themselves. Supporting their families, supporting causes, and empowering the other women they employ are all causes I can support. Make sure you read each story and click through to show these fabulous entrepreneurs some love this holiday season!

DL Designs Birmingham

Shop small and support DL Designs Birmingham this holiday season.Danielle is a mother of two who was an elementary school teacher for 5 years before she decided to stay home with her boys. Danielle has always loved crafting and creating, and she began DL Designs Birmingham as a way to make extra money at Christmas. Thanks to social media, her business has exploded over the last few years. Customer favorites are usually based on seasonal offerings, and one of the most popular items is her hand painted cross with interchangeable seasonal pieces. DL Designs offers local pickup with the code “PICKUPINBHAM.” The shop will close to custom orders on December 4, so don’t wait to see what she can create for you!

Lilly Bella Jewels

Shop small and support Lilly Bella Jewelry this Christmas season.Lilly Bella Jewels began as a hobby for creator Lauren while living in Beijing, China in 2014. Lauren saw the available resources and knew there was a market for fun, unique jewelry and, with a little encouragement from friends, took her business to the next level. Usually, she is inspired by a stone first and figures out how to work it into jewelry second, which is why she loves the creative process of her shop. Though she is in over 21 stores around the area, Lauren’s favorite part of her business is the personal shows she offers in homes. Sharing her story and the people she supports with her business is what fuels her creativity day in and day out. Gifts can be bought directly from her website or by following her on Facebook and Instagram for weekly sales.

High Cotton Candle company invites you to shop small, shop local during the holidays.Tracey created High Cotton Candle Company with the intention of giving back to the community. In addition to her regular scents like “Welcome Y’all” and “Southern Hospitality,” Tracey offers season scents from August-December like “Fall Festival,” “Tis the Season,” and “Christmas in Dixie.” As an added bonus, High Cotton Candle Company can monogram their large, 14 0z. candle for you.
