AMC Theaters Summer Movie Camp Schedule
I love going to the movies. I’ve always loved the entire movie experience. From sitting in cushy, theater-style seats to indulging in popcorn and candy, going to the movies is one of my favorite activities.
My girls’ first movie theater experience was at the tender age of 2. We went to see “Frozen,” and the rest, as they say, was history. They loved every bit of their special trip to the theater.
Now that they’re older, Neil and I often have to go see a film first before we can let them see it. Yes, there are still great family-friendly movies out there, but occasionally we need to screen a Marvel or Star Wars film just to be sure it’s going to be ok.
Thankfully, this year’s AMC Theaters Summer Movie Camp doesn’t require any pre-screening!
Family Friendly Films
First of all, all of the films in the AMC Theaters Summer Movie Camp series are family friendly. The rating for each movie is no higher than PG, and many of them may already be playing on loop in your at home entertainment console.
- Wonder Park
- Hotel Transylvania 3
- Peter Rabbit
- Small Foot
- The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part
- Teen Titans Go Movie
- The House with a Clock in Its Walls
- How to Train Your Dragon 3: The Hidden World

Next, make sure to check the AMC website for a listing of participating theaters near you to find out your theater’s schedule. For the AMC Classic Lorna Ridge 10, the schedule is as follows:

- June 26: Peter Rabbit
- July 3: Small Foot
- July 10: The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part

- July 31: Trolls
- August 7: How to Train Your Dragon 3: The Hidden World
What’s Included in AMC Theaters Summer Movie Camp
Finally, now that I’ve got your attention, I bet you’re wondering what in the world this costs, right? I mean, kids’ summer activities can be downright expensive, yo. I feel that pain. We are just getting to the age where my girls want to attend summer camps and the costs are making me weak in the knees!
The great thing about “summer movie camp” is that it won’t break the bank. It’s the perfect way to get out of the heat or escape from that random summer shower. Every ticket comes with a KidsPack which includes a kid sized popcorn, drink, and FrootiTooti fruit snack.
Best part? Every ticket is $4. Yep. You read that right.
For less than $15, mom and 2 kids can get a snack and a movie (or a nap! ha!) and kill 1-2 hours of your day. If you’re so over hearing, “I’m bored!” already like I am, AMC Summer Movie Camp might just be your ticket to some well deserved rest on your part.
Unfortunately, you can’t just drop the kids and come back later, but you can enjoy a dark theater with air conditioning and popcorn and possibly a little mid-movie doze off if you need it! Hey, I’m not judging!
Every showing begins at 10am (excluding July 4 as most theaters are closed), and most movies are between 1-ish hours to 90 minutes.
