Having a baby is an exciting time in life. With the digital world in which we live, announcing your pregnancy or revealing the baby’s gender (or babies’ genders) has taken on a new meaning. Being the Disney-loving family that we are, we had a lot of fun coming up with our Disney-themed baby announcement ideas. These are a few more of my favorites!
Disney Baby Announcement
If you’re into keeping the gender a secret until birth, you can still have fun sharing with the world your pregnancy story. When I was pregnant with my twins, Facebook was still “young,” Twitter was the new guy on the block, and Instagram had barely begun. I didn’t feel a need at that point to get creative with my pregnancy announcement or gender reveal.
Fast forward to my happy surprise second pregnancy (and third child), and it has become all the rage to do something cute. Is a cute announcement 100% necessary? Nope. It’s still totally up to you what you want to share online. However, if you want to have a little fun with it like I did, here are some super cute ideas!
Pregnancy Announcement Ideas
We chose to announce our new little one with a Disney Parks Mickey Ears hat. I ordered the hat online and had it shipped to our home.
Of course, if you live close to a Disney Park, Disney Springs, or Downtown Disney, you could just pop over to their ears shop and get your personalized hat there.
Baby Announcement Themes
With so many awesome characters and franchises to pull from, if you’re a Disney fan, you may be feeling stuck. Should you go classic with Mickey and Minnie? What about pulling in your love of Marvel superheroes? The possibilities are endless!
Star Wars Themes
Star Wars nerds, unite! I love that I wasn’t the only one who thought it would be fun to announce our new little one with a Star Wars-themed announcement.
My friend Autumn shared her second pregnancy on social media with this fun “The Fourth is with Us” announcement.
Another friend, Ashley, also shared about her exciting news in a fun Star Wars-inspired way. “My husband is a huge Star Wars fan, and we love putting LEGOs together… so I bought the family set (and the dog to represent our dog) thinking it’d be fun,” she said.
Finally, our gender reveal was timed to coincide with our most recent trip to Walt Disney World. We had known for about two weeks that our little one was a boy, but I knew I wanted to make this share an extra fun memory for me!
Disney World Themes
When I asked for friends to share their announcement stories, Natalie’s stood out to me. She says, “We had a missed miscarriage at 19 weeks in January 2018. When we found out we were pregnant again with our rainbow baby I was very skeptical to announce. It’s a bittersweet experience. During our trip to Disney, my husband convinced me to do an announcement and I’m so thankful we did! I used this picture (our baby in heaven being represented by the balloon my 2 older ones are holding). The caption was “No matter how your heart is grieving, if you keep on believing, a dream that you wish will come true.”
Cue the waterworks! What a sweet way to remember something difficult and enjoy what is coming next!
Whitney had two reveals during her Walt Disney World vacation. “We did our gender reveal at Disney! We have loved Disney for so long and already had a trip planned with our immediate families. We did a private reveal in front of them (only my sister knew) at Ft. Wilderness Campground and it was magical!”
She opted for a different image to share the great news with extended friends and family on Facebook!
Gender Reveal Ideas
As previously mentioned, we chose to reveal our baby’s gender through a photo taken during our trip. My friend, Courtney, threw a fun party for her gender reveal a few years ago! She says, “We were on limited time to plan this party, so we did Disney wherever we could. But there are so many ways you can incorporate Disney into your party or shower. Pinterest is the best place to start, and Etsy has so many cute things that you can get made to match your theme—the sky really is the limit!”
Isn’t this cake just adorable? I love a good theme, and a Disney theme is the best!
