2021 is going to be a full year at Dollywood theme park! While many protocols from 2020 are still in place, 2021 is shaping up to be a great year on the Dollywood schedule with more exciting events being added throughout the season. What events are happening? When are they happening? Here’s everything you need to know before you about the Dollywood schedule of events in 2021.
When Does Dollywood Open in 2021?
First, if you are an season passholder, the park will be open for its exclusive passholder day on March 12. The general public can begin visiting Dollywood on March 13. Reservations are still highly encouraged as park capacity limits are still being enforced.
Dollywood’s Splash Country water park opens on May, 15, 2021.
Dollywood Special Events
Typically, there are a plethora of events on the Dollywood calendar each year. Obviously, the COVID-19 pandemic has altered those plans somewhat. However, there is still a lot on the calendar that will make guests happy all year long!
Starting in the spring, the second annual Dollywood Flower & Food Festival will commence April 23-June 7. New at the Flower & Food Festival will be musical acts like the Melodies of Spring concert series as well as the brand new live show A Brighter day.
Following the spring festival will be Summer Celebration. From June 25 through July 31, guests can enjoy:
- Extended park hours
- Special summer entertainment
- More exciting things to be added and announced!
Rounding out the year are the fall and winter festivals known as Harvest Festival and Smoky Mountain Christmas.
Harvest Festival is held September 24-October 30 this year. Smoky Mountain Christmas will occur November 6, 2021-January 2, 2022.
Entertainment at Dollywood this Season
As the park opens in March, guests can expect to be dazzled by Dollywood’s own performers as well as outside musical acts throughout the season. Performances of these shows will begin in March and continue through the fall:
- Harmonies of the Heart (featuring Dolly’s family)
- A Brighter Day (uplifting favorites at the Back Porch Theater)
- The Tones (acapella takes on today’s current hits)
New during this year’s Flower & Food Festival, the Melodies of Spring concert series features contemporary Christian artists, Southern gospel groups and other fresh and inspiring acts all appearing inside Dolly Parton’s Celebrity Theater.
Among the artists currently scheduled are Matthew West, Big Daddy Weave, I AM THEY, Rebecca St. James, Sidewalk Prophets, the Rhett Walker Band, Triumphant Quartet and many more.
Guests can also expect seasonal performances. Groups like “The Tones” become the “MistleTones” during the holiday season. More shows and entertainment announcements will be made throughout the year!
What’s New at Dollywood in 2021
One of the biggest benefits to a Dollywood ticket or season pass is the add on of the TimeSaver pass. TimeSaver is Dollywood’s version of skipping the line at some of its most popular attractions.
There will be two TimeSaver options in 2021. TimeSaver, which allows you to jump to the front of the line eight (8) times throughout the day, or TimeSaver Unlimited. As the name suggests, the unlimited version allows you front of the line access as many times as you like throughout the day.
Also new for TimeSaver this year, is the ability to purchase it online and show the pass at the ride entrance. Talk about saving time!
New at Flower & Food Festival
In its second year, Dollywood’s Flower & Food Festival will have another chance to prove itself to be a guest favorite for years to come. Who doesn’t love delicious food paired with gorgeous floral displays?
Personally, I am very excited about the new Dining Pass for the festival. For $29.99 plus tax ($27.99 for Season Passholders), you will receive a lanyard with the pass redeemable for 5 meals a eligible Flower & Food culinary locations.
A dining pass is a great way to speed up the process of purchasing food to consume at the festival. I look forward to trying this out when the festival opens April 23, 2021!
