Walt Disney World is known for its incredible attractions, exciting events, and general magical fun. It’s also known for long lines and tired, hangry families! If this sounds like your family, I’ve got great news! You can now skip the quick service ordering line at most Walt Disney World restaurants. Yes, you read that correctly. Skip. The. Line. Curious to know how that feat can be accomplished? I’ve got all the details below on how to mobile order food at Disney.

How to Mobile Order Food at Disney

First, you need to have a smart device. A phone, iPod, or similar device with internet access are going to be the easiest thing to bring with you, and use, so make sure you have them on your person.

Download the “My Disney Experience” app. It is available for Android and Apple users alike. It’s free, and you should have downloaded it anyway before your trip began. Trust me, it will make your Disney vacation life so much easier!

Set Up Your Profile

Once the app is downloaded, you will need to have an active profile. An active profile is one that has all of the pertinent information filled out, including linking your resort reservation (if applicable), tickets, billing address, and a credit card. That last step is crucial to being able to mobile order food at Disney.

Using the App

After setting up your profile and linking a credit card, it’s time to place an order! How do you mobile order food at Disney? Follow these steps below for a painless process!

  1. Open your My Disney Experience app. Under the section titled “My Plans,” select “Order Food.”
  2. Select a restaurant in the park you wish to order from. NOTE: You cannot mobile order from a restaurant in a park you aren’t currently in.
  3. Build your order. Customize it just the way you like it with sides, drinks, and desserts! This is where you can also remove items you don’t like to further customize your meal.
  4. Click “Add Item” to add it to your order. When complete, there is an option to review the order in case anything was missed or accidentally duplicated.
  5. Ready to order? Simply hit “Purchase” to pay!

Disney Dining Plan Now Accepted on Mobile Order

*NEW* since January of 2018 is the ability to use dining plan credits to pay for snacks, drinks, and quick service meals. There is always the option to pay with a credit card if you don’t want to use credits, but I highly recommend using credits first and paying out of pocket later. My family always ends up with one too many snack credits at the end of our trip because we forgot to use them!

How to Pick Up Your Mobile Order

My Disney Experience uses GPS to track your proximity to the restaurant from which you ordered. Once you get close to the restaurant, open the app and tap “I’m Here” to send your order to the kitchen.

Depending on how busy the restaurant is, you may be waiting anywhere from 5 minutes to 15 minutes for your food. However, this is much preferable to standing in line (especially with kids) for that amount of time. My family usually grabs a table to rest our feet while we wait for our food to be prepared.

Finally, the app will let you know when your food is ready! Head to the “Mobile Order” pick-up window and grab that grub! You may see people standing in line around the Mobile Order window, but that is really unnecessary. Sometimes Cast Members will call your name or order number, and you can just skip the crowd and grab it when called. Easy peasy!
