Nashville: Anniversary Style

My super duper awesome parents kept our kids for us over MLK, Jr. weekend so we could escape to Nashville for 48 hours of kid free fun. I missed my babies so much, but I am so thankful for weekend getaways! I feel rejuvenated and fresh; like I can conquer anything now (even if it’s just dirty diapers and temper tantrums). This trip was also a celebration of our anniversary (the actual date being tomorrow).

^ ^Look at those little blossoms hanging on^^

We visited the Parthenon (the only full scale replica in the world), shopped at the mall(s), went to see Zero Dark Thirty (highly, HIGHLY recommend you see it), and, of course, ate like it was going out of style.

Our first dinner was at the Old Spaghetti Factory and it was delicious. It took us almost an hour to get our food, so the manager gave us our meal free (score!). Totally worth the wait though. Our second meal was a four course feast at The Melting Pot. Apparently there is one of these in Birmingham, but we hadn’t been to it yet, so we thought we’d treat ourselves. It was amazing, but we both agreed that it would be a good appetizer/dessert place as opposed to a full meal place. We were stuffed when it was all over.

Thanks again to my parents for spending the weekend with our kiddos so we could eat warm food and sleep in till 8:30 (ha)!
