Orlando, Florida, is known for its sunny skies and mostly mild weather. Disney World can stay open year-round because there aren’t as many temperature extremes as there are in other parts of the country – but what do you do when bad weather strikes?
What Happens When there is Bad Weather at Disney World?
First, and foremost, Disney World (almost) never closes. There have been a few rare exceptions over the years, mostly involving hurricanes. Typically, however, Disney World stays open, rain or shine. So, what do you do when the weather isn’t cooperating with your trip? I’ve got three great ideas to maximize your fun!
Stay and Play
Yes, you read that right. Stay and play in the rain at Disney World! While other families are bolting for their cars or hotel rooms, pull out that poncho or umbrella and keep going!
Resort Hop
One of my favorite things to do at Disney World is resort hop.
Visit Indoor Area Attractions
So, you stayed out in the elements for a day or two, but the weather just isn’t getting any better. What happens now? Stay inside, but don’t stay in your hotel room! Venture outside Disney World for a better look at Orlando.
No matter how you choose to handle the bad weather, don’t let it ruin your vacation! Laugh at your situation, and figure out the best way to make the most of it. Whenever my family runs into a bump in our plans, it always makes for fun memories to look back on and stories to tell. Let your story be one of fun and family, even if everything didn’t go according to plan!
