What You Need to Know About A Touch of Disney

Since mid-March of 2020, the gates of Disneyland Resort have been, essentially, closed. Yes, certain shopping and dining aspects of California Adventure have been opened (then closed, then opened again), but it’s an area not much larger than Downtown Disney.

Finally, finally, Disneyland Resort will be somewhat re-opening. What will be available? How can guests access the park? Will this opening finally include Disneyland? Here’s what you need to know about A Touch of Disney ticketed event at California Adventure.

What is A Touch of Disney?

First, let’s address what exactly this event is. A Touch of Disney is a ticketed event. Not a “park ticketed” event. Not a “legacy passholder” event. Everyone must purchase a ticket to this event.

It is a food, shopping, photo spot, and character sighting event all rolled into one. The food is described as “iconic food and beverage items from both Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure park.”

Guests will be able to enjoy Dole Whips, churros, and even the classic Monte Cristo Sandwich that is famous to New Orleans Square in Disneyland park. Additionally, six seasonal “marketplaces” will be available for food purchases (no doubt taking advantage of previous Food & Wine festival stops).

Guests will also be able to explore the park and shop for the latest in Disney apparel and accessories as well as purchase sweets and treats at Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff.

Finally, guests will be able to catch a glimpse of favorite characters like Joy, Sadness, and even Mickey himself! Special photo opportunities will also be available, but only if you attend A Touch of Disney!

Where and When to Buy Tickets

Tickets for A Touch of Disney will only be available at Disneyland.com beginning on March 4, 2021. Guests will not be able to purchase tickets at the resort.

Tickets will be available for dates on a “rolling basis” until the experience ends. The dates for A Touch of Disney are March 18 through April 5, 2021. The ticketed event will only occur Thursdays-Mondays from noon-8pm.

Extra Details for A Touch of Disney Event

While this news is a positive step forward for our west coast Disney friends, it still does not mean that everything is “back to normal.”

For example, Disneyland park remains closed to the public. Rides at California Adventure will not operate. However, table reservations will soon be available for Lamplight Lounge and Carthay Circle Lounge-Alfresco Dining starting on March 11, 2021.

Also, great news for those that purchased Sip and Savor passes for the 2020 Food & Wine Festival. Disney will refund $7 for each unused tab still attached to the pass. To request a refund, call 888-231-7639 or by visiting the online Disneyland help center. These passes cannot be used at the A Touch of Disney event.
