Neil and I just got back from our whirlwind weekend in Orlando. We celebrated my birthday in Walt Disney World, and were able to check out some of the special events going on while we were down there. Our trip was focused on attending the “Star Wars Weekends” events, and, if you are a Star Wars fan, I highly recommend trying to attend one of these weekends. The “Legends of the Force” parade was awesome and definitely worth the trip alone. I’ll be blogging about more specifics on Star Wars weekends next week over on my other blog.
We also got to see the tail end of the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. This festival was a lot more laid back (and less crowded) than Star Wars Weekends, but was still fun nonetheless. We ate some amazing food, saw some beautiful topiaries, and just generally enjoyed spending time together.
I highly recommend going to Walt Disney World without kids (read another perspective on that here). We were able to do a lot more things and stretch our time out without the kiddos. Granted, they make it a lot of fun too, but you definitely have to go at a slower pace when you’re with them (especially if they’re under 10). Neil and I are big kids at heart, so we love taking fun trips like this with just the two of us.If you have any specific questions about my trip, feel free to leave a comment here, on my Facebook page, or tweet me. I’d be glad to cover anything else you’d like to know! This is my personal blog, and I try to write about what’s going on in my life, but I don’t want to overwhelm you with my Disney addiction! Don’t forget to check out my Disney-centered blog next week for more in depth posts about my trip!
